Caravan and Holiday Home Buying FAQ

Below you will find our most frequently asked questions and answers about buying a home for the holidays:

We went to the exhibition and camping holidays have decided to camp we want to buy what is the next step?

First, I would always recommend that you find your ideal holiday park first, to find out how big the database to ensure that you do not buy the house that is too large to fit on your perfect park!

Once you have found your ideal home park and an ideal base know how big your camp should be and whether or not to buy a station wagon facing forward or sideways facing camp take the best view.

Some home parks, like us, have a range of high quality, fully valet hands vacation cottage for sale on site, ranging from low cost "starter" caravans for customers who are new to the industry (ideal for those who want to try a caravan holiday at a lower financial risk) at the prestigious newer models for those who had a home before and want to upgrade at a fraction of the cost. Buying on the spot for rest and gives you a saving of around £ 3000 as there is no transport and expensive costs involved with buying from a dealer.

After I bought my caravan, what other costs do I have to pay?

the main cost is the annual pitch fee, payable to the park owners to use their land. Rents vary in accordance with the length of the permits and facilities at the park. Little "Peace and quiet parks with eight months of the season can charge around £ 1500 per year. Those who have a full range of entertainment and recreational facilities, with multiple licenses, and / or near the sea can charge up to £ 4.500. Be careful here as Some parks have different benefits for different database or the park.

Depending on the caravan, caravan insurance will cost £ 300 in the area. Each field has a current which is calculated annually and gas bottles cost about 30 pounds.

I hope to be able to sub-let me camp close family and friends. Do I need permission from the park owner?

Not all parks are allowed under the lease. Some are for owner-occupants only. Why? Because of the interest paid camp residents. Unfortunately, historically minourity of people who rent houses on a weekly basis tend to disturb the peace and tranquility of the park and ignore the wishes of paying neighbors. It's not fair to the majority of good people who are renting, but like most cases are in the minority it destroyed, and most parks will not risk upsetting their long-term paying customers for you sublet your caravan for a week. Safety and protection camps are a top priority and they like to know who is on site or request that you inform your family and friends to sign up uu the office so that they know who they are!

What type of Facilities do home parks have?

institutions ranging from park to park, and may include swimming pool, tennis courts, golf, gymnasium, restaurant, to name a few. Some of them have playgrounds and organized children's entertainment through the holidays and social clubs for evening entertainment too. So, spending time in a park home can be as "all inclusive vacation"

While most of the Mid Wales parks have an array of objects, what impresses most campers in this country, beautiful countryside, it's heritage and diverse flora and fauna. Even the "small family" Parks are great evening entertainment, where they provide a social club and organize a party of campers, who benefit from keeping fit fun for those who want to enjoy it without strict timetables outlining what has been planned for weeks to come party .

We are very active and enjoy our outdoor sports. Where we can store our bikes, surfboards and wet suits?

Some manufacturers also include storage areas (such as Willaby Westmoreland with storage space at the rear which is accessed from the outside) These are lockable so your equipment is safely stored and ready for your visit. Alternatively, many caravaners purchase freestanding storage units or sheds to store heavy equipment out of the way safely.

We love the West Country / Coast and wanted to take our vacation there, but it is a four-hour drive from home. Should we seek to park closer to home?

If you're looking to visit your caravan most weekends and then travel up to two hours is ideal. If you plan to use their time in the camp of peace and relaxation then the eight hour drive there and back with the kids / pets / relatives in the back will probably negate any benefits that derive from it.

is far better to get closer so that you can drive down on Friday and return home early Monday morning. Most people who have a caravan in Mid Wales to use the park as a base for their trips so they can travel to the park on Friday night, then move on Saturday morning on the beaches of Barmouth, Tal y Bont, Aberystwyth, etc. all of which are only 40 minutes to an hour away, without having to drive three hours there and back in one go!

Mid Wales inside the park also gives you the advantage of being able to choose to go ashore when the weather is sunny, without being stuck there with strong winds and rain, when it's not! All the while enjoying the savings on premiums coastal holiday park would cost in relation to the park

We were then to discover some parks are only open for seven months this year, although we were allowed to visit the caravan and at other times, we can not stay overnight. Are there any home parks with a longer open season?

Each home park license was issued from their local authorities, provides for the opening period. In the past eight months of the season (usually from March to October) are usually

.

Increasingly, however, more permits were issued with some parks even have up to 12 months license. Remember though, unless you have the Chalet you can not live permanently in caravan park holiday, even if the permit is 12 months;. You must have a permanent address in another

One thing to remember is that Britain has a nice summer, but we do not have cold winters, and houses are what they say on the tin, fantastic in the summer only! So, while site 12 months may seem a better value, You May be paying a higher premium to find myself not wanting to stay in it during the colder months at the beginning and end of the year. Chalets are much more ready for the winter months and what are camping park "residents" (people who have a caravan park as their permanent place of residence) to stay in.

I'm not sure if we can not afford a brand new station wagon. What are the snags with buying a previously occupied?

Most parks have a number of previously occupied caravan for sale, usually in impeccable condition, which just bought from previous customers who were at the park and decided to upgrade / keep up with the Jone's (When buying make sure you ask where the park got caravans from where the caravan was before the place, because it sold the previous clients if you know a lot of JT park maintenance history to be sure!) They then valeted and electricity and gas check.

Even though snags caravan park apparently no range is available as a wagon dealer you save about £ 3000 to transport and set of costs associated with buying a new caravan! most even come with a deck included! If you can live without the most up to date equipment and then a second hand caravan can be just right for you.

We found our ideal park that is empty base for the new wagon. But the park does not show houses and the owner suggested we look at different manufacturers ranges. What is the best way to do this?

easyist way is to look around the caravan dealer such as salope free time, which is in Shrewsbury output is about 60 caravans from numerous vendors available for you to check it out firsthand. It is always a good idea to hold as many brochures as possible, so you can get a good idea of what features are unique to each manufacturer and you can expect for your money. Every manufacturer of new ranges of products every year, so make sure yours is the literature so far!

homes are clad in aluminum, PVC and wood-like finish, which is best?

Aluminum clad caravans are the most common and cheapest. Outside is just as easy to maintain a regular wash down or annual paint or polish will keep them in tip top condition. UPVC and other finishes are pretty much maintenance with some better increase the level of isolation.

a lot of second homes that we saw are fitted with decking. To buy one of these?
